Last week I blogged a bit about my upcoming relaunch of Miles of Files and the accompanying blog tour. This week, I’m not delivering just more of the same. Other exciting events are afoot!

First off, I’m pleased to announce that I’m going to be hosting another guest here in two short weeks: the fabulous Marie Lavender, who has got to be one of the most prolific novelists I’ve ever encountered, at least in real life.

Marie was kind enough to feature me on her blog when I was just starting a year or so ago. When I began getting ready for this blog tour, hers was one of the first names that came to mind. Turned out she had a new book coming out (go figure), and it launched yesterday. You can find more details here.

We’re going to spread the wealth by featuring each other: I’m hosting Marie on March 13th, so mark your calendars. Then she’s hosting me the very next day, March 14th, on her award-winning book blog here. She hosts other authors there frequently, so it really provides a great service. Then, on March 20th, Marie will be hosting me on her other blog, Writing in the Modern Age. The first appearance will be the new cover reveal, and the second will be an interview about Miles of Files and writing in general. Should be fun, and Marie’s spot here will be about her new book.

The other big news takes place right here in Tampa. On April Fools’ Day – one of my favorite holidays – I’ll be appearing at the Local Authors Meet N’ Greet at the New Tampa Regional Library, 10001 Cross Creek Blvd. Of course, I’ll have the brand spanking new version of Miles of Files available for sale at the event. I can’t wait to see that new cover in print.

Looking forward to seeing everyone out there. And of course, keep on reading!

6 Twitter Tips for Authors

Those of you who follow my blog probably connected with me via Twitter, whether you're a fellow author or not. Now that I'm closing in on 13,000 followers, I'm starting to feel like I've got a little experience I can share that will be helpful. So with that, here...

Breaking Into the Top 100

Recently, I posted something on LinkedIn called Author, Entrepreneur, or Authorpreneur? My point was that, if you're interested in breaking into the top 100 in your Amazon category, you're probably going to have to spend some time acting like a businessperson when it...

Book Launch Time: The Biggest Day In A Writer’s Life

Over the past few weeks, I've been posting a YouTube video series called From Manuscript to Publication. The idea is to provide a bit of service to my fellow authors—in particular, those new to the publishing game. Anyone familiar with my work most likely knows about...

Platform-Building for Authors

A while back, I wrote a LinkedIn article on platform-building for authors, a frequent topic for my speaking gigs and for online posts in general. Today I thought I'd revisit some of that for the blog, discussing how speaking can help an author. Building a platform...
Thanksgiving

Gratitude Week: A Thanksgiving Reflection from Mike Sahno – Author. Speaker. Publisher.

2018 has been trying, to say the least. In January, I posted a New Year's resolution to finish my current WIP, Whizzers, this year. Then, on Valentine's Day, that got back-burnered when the call came that my 81-year-old mother had taken a fall and had to be...

Ready to Launch Into 2019?

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’ll know I’ve shown an obsessive side lately – lots of content about my upcoming book launch. I’m releasing my fourth novel, Whizzers, in 2019. That means I’m putting a lot of emphasis on building my marketing plan well in...

A Short Blog Post, But A Long Video Interview

Most of my Monday blog posts are a few hundred words long. Sometimes that's because I'm just plain long-winded (hey, I'm a novelist!), but usually it's for SEO purposes. The Google machine tells you that your "content" should always be at least 300 words long. In a...

Self-Care for Creatives

Today's post is not about coronavirus, because—let's face it—aren't we all sick of being bombarded with news and info about it all day, every day? The situation is getting worse, and will be for a while before it gets better. Duly noted. However, I do want to give...

We’re All Looking For The Answer

Today’s post is a bit of a topic combo, if there is such a thing. What’s on my mind? Elements of a February 2019 post called No More For The Road and the March 2019 post I Survived Catholic School. Don’t worry. I won’t repeat what’s in them. You can read them for...
