Last week I blogged a bit about my upcoming relaunch of Miles of Files and the accompanying blog tour. This week, I’m not delivering just more of the same. Other exciting events are afoot!

First off, I’m pleased to announce that I’m going to be hosting another guest here in two short weeks: the fabulous Marie Lavender, who has got to be one of the most prolific novelists I’ve ever encountered, at least in real life.

Marie was kind enough to feature me on her blog when I was just starting a year or so ago. When I began getting ready for this blog tour, hers was one of the first names that came to mind. Turned out she had a new book coming out (go figure), and it launched yesterday. You can find more details here.

We’re going to spread the wealth by featuring each other: I’m hosting Marie on March 13th, so mark your calendars. Then she’s hosting me the very next day, March 14th, on her award-winning book blog here. She hosts other authors there frequently, so it really provides a great service. Then, on March 20th, Marie will be hosting me on her other blog, Writing in the Modern Age. The first appearance will be the new cover reveal, and the second will be an interview about Miles of Files and writing in general. Should be fun, and Marie’s spot here will be about her new book.

The other big news takes place right here in Tampa. On April Fools’ Day – one of my favorite holidays – I’ll be appearing at the Local Authors Meet N’ Greet at the New Tampa Regional Library, 10001 Cross Creek Blvd. Of course, I’ll have the brand spanking new version of Miles of Files available for sale at the event. I can’t wait to see that new cover in print.

Looking forward to seeing everyone out there. And of course, keep on reading!

“When the World Is Running Down, You Make the Best of What’s Still Around”

Like most Americans who grew up in the 70s and 80s, I've got a fair amount of song lyrics floating around my head. Today's post is entitled "When the World Is Running Down, You Make the Best of What's Still Around" after the Police song of that name. And I'll admit, I...

Do What You Love, and the Money Will Follow…Right?

Recently, I was reading a post from an online trainer who coaches authors and other professionals. This trainer discusses the contrast between writing for money and writing for passion. In other words, the age-old conundrum: if you do what you love, will the money...

Top Five Things to Check Before You Turn Your Manuscript Over

This week's blog post is for my writer friends. Everyone has a checklist of things they know they need to consider before publishing. When it comes time to turn that manuscript into a book, it's all too easy to get caught up in marketing considerations or thoughts of...

How Authors Can Navigate Twitter

Way back in June 2016, I wrote a blog post about Facebook vs. Twitter. At the time, I had a whole six months of expertise as a guy running a business full-time, so no wonder I did such a great job! Well, okay, maybe I overstated my case. But the bottom line of that...

More Fun With the ISBN Number

I've grown so accustomed to cranking out my blog posts on Monday afternoons, I almost forgot to schedule one for today. Thanks to the magic of WordPress, I can write this in the morning and schedule it for the afternoon. By the time you're reading this, I'll be out on...
Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones and Storytelling

Writing is a funny game. You make stuff up and it goes from your head to your fingers, then to a screen via keyboard, or a page via writing implement. But of course, we all know that's not the oldest way of telling stories. Really, stories began with cave drawings and...

And So The Tour Ends

Well, it's finally over: the blog tour for the relaunch of Miles of Files ends today with a stop at Novelgossip, hosted by the fabulous Amy. I say fabulous because, man oh man, has she got a following! Not even four o'clock, and already 33 bloggers have liked the...

Best Accounts to Follow on Twitter

Recently I wrote a blog post about how many writers struggle to find interesting topics. It occurred to me that, for those of us who are writers and/or entrepreneurs, one good topic for this blog might be Best Accounts to Follow on Twitter.Of course, this is totally...

Announcing The Whizzers Launch Team!

This weekend, I got my edited copy of Whizzers back from editing and sent out my monthly newsletter announcing the formation of the Whizzers Launch Team. Stuff is a-happening! As Mike Ehrmantraut once said to Jessie Pinkman, "Big doings today." Of course, that...
